The “Hinge” is a Trailer Flex patent product designed for a 5-axle trailer application.  This is a “Ontario Made” product manufactured in Canada only. This allows for a maximum gross vehicle weight of 63,500kgs. It replaces the need for 2 self-steer axles as in the SPIF Configuration #5. It allows the 23m. unit articulate 22 degrees side to side to maneuver around corners with all 5 axles on the ground when loaded saving the infrastructure on both the provincial and municipal roads leading to the load destination. This strong yet light weight devise can fit into any trailer frame structure including the depth and width of any trailer manufacturer.

It comes with an in-cab control reverse lock system, for backing up or turning the trailer around like a straight trailer, thus eliminating special drivers needed to drive B-trains. It turns a two-part trailer into one single trailer when backing up.
